Top 4 Tips From Fellows

WE HAVE MADE IT TO THE HALFWAY MARK!

It's been exactly six months since we started our journeys to our host cities around the country! We have had many unique experiences and fortifying challenges from the east to the west. Along the way, we have gathered gems of knowledge that we want to share with incoming fellows and supporters of the fellowship.

We highlight four of our fellows from across the country to share what lessons they have learned on the job.

Briana Pistone | Washington D.C.

Her lesson comes in the form of advice to future fellows. She says, "stay focused on what you want to learn and take from the role."

Jane Miller | Baltimore

An invaluable lesson I've learned in my time at America Works is patience. When working with customers, you must be patient and listen more than talk to make them feel comfortable working with you.

Pemba | Bronx, NY

She says that she has learned, " There is always something new to learn and be patient."

Penny Davis | San Francisco

She expressed that "sometimes the biggest favor you can do for a client is simplify the process. Many supportive services can be tedious to navigate, and breaking them down for clients can be just what they need to get help."

With our research project going full steam ahead, we are excited to see how much we will all grow in the next six months! If you would like to follow up with any of our fellows, they can be reached on Linkedin, and our recruitment team can be reached at recruitment@theworkfirst.org
